What We Believe

Our faith is built on the timeless truths of Scripture

Our Foundation

Rooted in the
Restoration Movement

New Brunswick Church of Christ is part of the Restoration Movement, a tradition that seeks to return to the simple faith and practices of the New Testament church.

We are non-denominational, believing that Scripture alone should guide our beliefs and practices. While we don't require agreement on every point of theology, we share a common commitment to following Jesus and honoring the Bible as God's Word.

Faithful Ever Since

Our Doctrine

Core Beliefs

The biblical foundations that unite us as a church family

1

The Bible

2 Timothy 3:16-17

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, the complete revelation of His will for salvation, and the ultimate authority for Christian faith and life.

2

God

Deuteronomy 6:4

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is the Creator of all things, loving, holy, and sovereign over all.

3

Jesus Christ

John 3:16

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully divine and fully human. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, rose bodily from the dead, and will return again in glory.

4

The Holy Spirit

Acts 1:8

We believe in the Holy Spirit who convicts the world of sin, regenerates believers, and empowers the church for witness and service. We are a Spirit-filled community seeking to follow His leading.

5

Salvation

Ephesians 2:8-9

We believe salvation is a gift of grace through faith in Jesus Christ. We are saved not by our own works, but by trusting in Christ's finished work on the cross.

6

Baptism

Romans 6:3-4

We practice baptism by immersion as an expression of faith in Christ and obedience to His command. Baptism represents the believer's identification with Christ's death, burial, and resurrection.

7

The Church

1 Corinthians 12:27

We believe the church is the body of Christ, made up of all who have placed their faith in Him. The local church gathers for worship, teaching, fellowship, and service.

8

The Lord's Supper

1 Corinthians 11:26

We observe the Lord's Supper each Sunday as Jesus commanded, remembering His sacrifice and proclaiming His death until He returns.

Our Principle

Unity in Essentials

"

In essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty; in all things, love.

"

We hold firmly to the core truths of Scripture while extending grace on matters where faithful Christians may disagree. What matters most is our shared commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

"For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ."

— 1 Corinthians 3:11
